How are the stamps laid out?

This is a very common question from contractors new to Stamped Concrete or unfamiliar with a new pattern. It is better to have an idea how to lay out stamps before standing over a driveway that is setting up. We have provided a layout sheet for every stamp we carry. The link can be found in our resource centre called PDF Layout Sheets.

We advise you to lay the stamps out on grass or sand to become comfortable with the placement of stamps prior to do.....

I am a do it yourselfer. I have worked with concrete before, but not stamping. My question is, do you have to apply sealer to the concrete to reduce wearing of the pattern?
